Style Dare A Day {March}

Introducing Style Dare a Day, a style challenge for every day of March 2013.

We’ve been laying down Style Dares on Fox in Flats for over 18 months. They started as a weekly challenge, and recently we’ve tried sets of daily challenges packaged together in a little blue bow for a whole calendar month. DAREcember in December 2012, and FABruary in February 2013 have seen thousands of women from around the world sharing photos of their interpretations of each Daily Style Dare on social media – in particular Instagram at #DAREcember and #FABruray.

And this month we’re at it again.

Because Style Dares are such a fun and easy way to inspire the way we dress each day; they challenge us to try things we might ordinarily dismiss; they push us to rummage through our wardrobes and rediscover old items we own; and they force us to be more creative.

Ready to shake off your day-to-day uniforms, and spice things up a little?!

Tips, ideas and inspiration for each day of the March Style Dare

1. Grr!

“Animal prints will make you happy” Roberto Cavalli told us, so today’s the day to release the beast.

2. Black & White

Sorry, MJ, but in Autumn 2013, it does matter if you’re black or white. Combine the two colours together and you’re on-trend with a massive texta tick. Check out the other key trends for the season here.

3. Combat

I reckon we’ve all got something khaki or camo in our wardrobes somewhere. Upscale with a tailored blazer, a crisp shirt, and some killer shoes. War paint optional.

4. French

Think classic, simple, uncluttered, natural, and top with a silk scarf. Tres chic! Be inspired by Marion Cotillard, Audrey Tatou, Vanessa Paradis, Ines de la Fressange and, of course, Coco Chanel.

5. Cuff ’em

The latest trend in nails, lips, and foundations. Dull it down.

Because it’s super happy!

Be inspired by The Queen of Reinvention and get into her groove. Pick an era and work it.

15. Chains

Delicate links or heavy metals, layer them or keep it simple and join the Chain Gang.

16. Cold Shoulder

Strapless, asymmetrical or simply shoulder-baring. We want skin and shoulder blades!

How to join the March Style Dare

Simply save your own copy of the #FoxInFlatsStyleDare list (above) onto your computer or mobile device, then refer to it every day through March.

Or, print out a copy and pin it somewhere that you’ll see it every morning before you get dressed – it may be the bathroom mirror, the fridge, or even above the baby’s change table.

Then, simply refer to the calendar date daily, and wear the item listed for the day.

We’ll be sharing handy tips, ideas and inspiration on site on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for that day’s challenge.

And most importantly? Wear it your way.
