Whether you’re still using them on your baby, or they’re languishing in a drawer somewhere, these baby products are a welcome addition to any makeup kit:
1. Nipple cream
Fantastic as a lip balm, and a little goes a long way. Especially great at night as it won’t slide off. Also spread lightly on cuticles, cracked heels and elbows.
2. Paw paw ointment
Sure, it’s great for mild nappy rash, but this is the ultimate beauty multi-tasker. Use on lips and eyelids for gloss, and cheek bones for shine. Also great for ingrown hairs.
3. Baby oil
Baby oil gives a lovely sheen to legs in summer, and also works well to remove makeup. Add a few drops to your bath for extra moisture.
4. Baby wipes
Most wipes are formulated to be extra gentle on baby’s skin, so they are a perfect alternative to makeup removal wipes – and usually significantly less expensive.
5. Nappy rash cream
The soothing healing nature of nappy rash cream on little bottoms also works a treat on dry spots and eczema. And my friend Jo swears by this for treating the occasional pimple.
6. Baby massage oil
Smooth over your face as an oil treatment at night. Or, treat your feet to a massage, then pop on socks and wear to bed, giving it the night to soak in.
7. Baby lotion
The sweet, soft distinctive smell is synonymous with babies and cuddles, so why not bank on some more cuddles yourself and use it as a body lotion? It’s also great as a gentle skin cleanser.
8. Baby Powder
Sprinkle a small amount of baby powder into your hands and dust through your hair instead of dry shampoo. It’ll absorb the natural oils and give hold to your hair. Use sparingly though – especially if you are a brunette – or you’ll look like you’ve got dandruff.
