The three flats we’ll be wearing in 2015 (and where to buy them now)

By Andrea Michelle

Those in the know like French style icon Inès de La Fressange and all the Foxes have known for ages that being stylish and wearing practical shoes is not always mutually exclusive. Inès went on record years ago saying,

Finally, people understand one doesn’t need to wear high heels to look sexier.”

But now that Fashion Weeks in New York, London and Milan are well and truly over it seems that flats are officially ‘in fashion’ for Spring/Summer 2015. Here are the three key straight-off-the-runway looks to inspire you for the upcoming seasons.

There is actually a funny/not funny story about why I bought such ridiculously expensive shoes… I borrowed them from a store for this shoot and like a stupid novice forgot to tape the soles of them so they wouldn’t get scratched and could be sold at a later date. Suffice to say that after wearing them only once and indoors for this one photo they wouldn’t take them back and the store made me buy them. GULP!!! Expect to see me wearing these shoes to a lot going forward, and probably to my grave…

As for the others, I’ll race you to them – but watch out, I’ll be fast, as I’ll be wearing my thousand dollar flats. Surely these will make me run faster?!

Which styles will you add to your shopping list for the upcoming season? And what’s the most you’ve ever paid for a pair of shoes?
