Jessica Simpson to give birth in heels, wears a cape

Jessica Simpson shared her views on pregnancy style over at US Weekly last week when she joked she was planning to wear her 4-inch YSL heels when she gave birth to her first child. ”I went to the doctor yesterday and he said, ‘You’re gonna need to get out of those heels!’” Her response?

“I was like, ‘Excuse me! I’ll be delivering in these heels!”

She went on to say that since she’s been pregnant she likes to show off her bump with more fitted clothes.

“You want to show off your bump! It’s just so fun. You don’t want to wear muumuus so you can moo around town.”

Yet, only weeks before, Jess had swathed her rapidly expanding bump in volumes of fabric when she wore this gorgeous charcoal cape.

I had a disastrous haircut a few months before my son was born, so I literally had a mullet. I don’t know why the hairdresser thought short layers all over the top of my head would thin out my very thick hair! I had to get it all cut off. I remember, all I wanted at the time was to be able to tie my hair back in a ponytail when I was giving birth. After going from mild cramps to full labour within 30 minutes with a 4.5 kg, 58cm baby lying in posterior position, with an allergic reaction to painkillers in my emergency caesar to boot, I didn’t give a hoot what state my hair was in. If shaving my head would have helped, I would have gladly had it done!

I’m guessing Jessica may feel the same way about her shoes!I would never be so rude as to disparage anyone’s choices (hey, really!), but 4 inch stilettos have very little place in a delivery room. Does make a funny joke though!

    Nah, it sounds worse than it was, but I don’t have another birth to compare it to, after all! I did manage to sleep for five hours and dilated four cms whilst sleeping, so that was a bonus!

Oh my goodness, I had a “labour outfit” all picked out (nothing fancy no ysl heels just ALL black old clothes) and I ended up rocking up to hospital in a nightie and then getting completely nude. I really did not care or think about my “outfit” it was the furthest thing from my mind! My money is on Jess’ YSL heels being the first thing to go!
