Here’s a bunch of cool stuff we’ve seen, heard and tried lately.

1. HEARD: Some great advice from celebrity stylist, Mary Alice Stephenson:

“Wear sequins in the sun, your heart on your sleeve, and remember everything looks better with a smile, Spanx, and a statement necklace!”

2. TRIED: Chinese herbal beauty.

I’ve been using this Royal Ming firming and hydrating cream by WEI on my face day and night for the last few weeks, and just had to share. It’s rich, luxurious, and made my skin feel soft and super hydrated – without the stickiness or heaviness found in some creams. At $136 from MECCA Cosmetica, it’s definitely not cheap, but it did make a noticeable difference to the texture of my skin.

3. READING momfilter.

The website, described as a ‘lifestyle playbook for families’ covers a gamut of topics like games for kids, recipes, home decor, travel, entertaining, and even has a section called ‘That Mom‘ – similar to our Playground Style section – where it has pics of mums who look fab while going about their day-to-day biz. Best of all, the site is stylish, clean, easy to navigate and the chicks who write for it sound cool.

5. EXPERIMENTING: A shade of red

And I just found this cute book A Shade of Red. Through a series of chance encounters and word of mouth, artist Alyson Fox visited, spoke with and photographed more than 100 women, most of whom had never before had their portrait taken. The only thread that tied them together was their willingness to wear a single shade of red lipstick. Click here for more.
