How would you feel if you bumped into a hot ex when you’re with your kids?

We surveyed 150 women with kids, and asked this question. This is what they said:

19% gleefully exclaimed:

“Great! I look better now than I did back then”

Nearly 56% said:

“Ok, so long as I didn’t have vomit on my shoulder”

Sadly, 14% revealed they’d feel:

“Mortified. I’d hide”

And nearly 10% said:

“I’d say hello to him, but I don’t think he would recognise me”

How would you feel?

I’d feel great! I’ve matured into my look.

      Good skills Jo!

Perish the thought! This is actually the reason I put make-up on each morning: whenever I think I couldn’t be bothered today I imagine running into x,y or z. Out comes the mascara and lipgloss. Sad but true. And I am happily married by the way.

Anne, I don’t think it’s sad at all. Whatever makes you happy! x

  • Stacey

Never really thought about it – he was an a-hole, but very hot nonetheless. But I’m proud of who I am.

      Proud – that’s cool. x

  • Jenny

Today I’d hide. I’m wearing what I slept in, and look like death :(

    • http://twitter.com/FoxInFlats Andrea

Don’t worry Jenny, I’d betcha he looks worse ;)

  • Tracey

I’m a happier person than I was when I was with him, so I’d love to bump into him to show him that I’m not as psycho as he probably remembers me to be.

Oh man, some dudes just MAKE you crazy don’t they!

I probably wouldn’t think too much about it but if he saw me today I imagine he would be thinking ‘thank god I escaped from that’ hahaha (its not a good hair/fashion/mood day today!).  Actually my ex and I are still friends and see each other from time to time.  A few years ago we went out and had lunch (my hubby and I and my ex-husband and his new wife – it wasn’t as awkward as it sounds lol).  Hubby and I had our 3 little ones in tow – all under the age of 4 so you can imagine what a joy it was to dine out with them in public – and I was heavily, heavily pregnant with number 4 and waddling around like some kind of enormous stuffed walrus.  It was the middle of summer, boiling hot and I was wearing some kind of hideous maternity kaftan thing that was the only dress I was comfortable in and which was riding up horribly short because of my enormous belly.  Im sure I looked a fright!  But he is a very nice guy and kept his looks of horror/disgust/relief remarkably well hidden :)

LOL! What a visual you have painted here Eloise! You crack me up. How lucky to have such a good relationship with your ex. x

For a mum of 2, pushing 40 I reckon I’m doing alright. But might keep this in the back of my mind in case I do bump into him ;)

      Oh snap! x

As long as I’m not in my tracky-dacks and thongs at the time (and my kids weren’t covered in chook poo and snot slime) then no worries at all…..:)

    • http://twitter.com/FoxInFlats Andrea

Ha ha, snot is pretty ubiquitous in our place. Chook poo not so much…. ;)

I am thinnner now, but not as ‘maintained’. Wouldn’t care if I saw him though. Ancient history.

I would tease him and say ” Haha! Look what I’ve got! and you? still wondering in night clubs trying to pick up girls” LOL

I'm also the mother of two little boys, who I credit for the motherhood induced fashion rut that I fell into sometime between the labour ward and now…

Here, we're sharing tips, ideas and inspiration to make it much, much easier to navigate motherhood in style.
