When I got married oh so many years ago, I spent months beforehand searching for the perfect shoe: heeled, but not so high that I’d topple over; strappy, but secure enough to stay on during our bridal waltz extravaganza; and heart-achingly stunning, so I could stare at them lovingly before, during and after the ceremony. The honeymoon period with those shoes has never ended.
But will it be the same for brides who choose to wear sneakers on their wedding day?
Paris-based bridal footwear label Vouelle says their white satin ‘bridal sneakers’ have been a hit so far. Vouelle CEO Regan de Vogele explained:
“A lot of brides buy them to wear them on the morning of their wedding, when they’re getting their hair done and they’re wearing their white Juicy sweatpants.”
