Being a mother is exhausting work.
Yet quick fix drinks laden with caffeine, sugar and artificial stuff can be bad for our bodies, and are to be avoided while pregnant and breastfeeding.
A friend from mother’s group, who always looks on top of the motherhood gig, told me about Floradix, a liquid herbal iron supplement, which claims to:
‘maintain vitality, energy, stamina, fitness and general health‘.

Since then I’ve popped some in my trolley whenever I’m feeling run down and need an energy boost, and it really works. I don’t think I could have got through my second pregnancy working full-time and balancing everything else without it.
And it’s safe while breastfeeding when your iron levels are especially low.
It costs around $27 for a bottle, which will last about 2 weeks. I last bought Floradix from Coles, but you’ll also find it in health food stores, or online.
