Here at Fox In Flats we love accessories, so we are thrilled to see that chunky clips and barrettes are a major trend thanks to labels like Rodarte (pictured)
Loving the classy-meets-cool vibe of these clips – they are practical and sophisticated, but with a fresh modern charm.
And best of all, it’s an easy look to recreate for busy women. According to Aveda Lead Stylist Odile Gilbert:
The body is full of natural-looking texture, the ends are straight, and a strong, swooping side part gives the hair a retro feel.
Here’s how to do the Quick Chick Clip Trick.

Step one: Blowdry hair straight, or simply add dry shampoo or mattifying powder. I’m slightly obsessed by Schwarzkopf Osis Dust it+ Mattifying Powder $23.90, it’s the only thing that works on my fine hair.
Step two: Using fingers for a slightly imperfect look, create a super-strong part on the left side of the head, parallel to the center of the right eyebrow. Spray liberally with hair spray for shine and light hold.
Step three: Secure a thick barrette to the left side of the hair, just above the left ear. Set with a little more hair spray.

Enjoy yet another great hair day!
